jack lalane juicer parts

How can I extract two parts stuck together on a Jack Lalane juicer?

The tool used to tap down the fruit into the blade compartment. Now it's hopelessly stuck.HELP!!

If the parts are stuck together because of food wedged in between, try running under very hot water, then gently wiggle. Hot water should partially cook the vegetable or fruit matter and make it softer.

I would also e-mail the manufacturer for the best advice!
